Promotional Items for International Guitar Month

Monday, April 1st, 2013

Strum a chord on your old classic, or jam on your Fender Strat  - April is International Guitar Month!

The use of the modern-style guitar can be traced back to the European medieval period, but precursors to this instrument date back to over 4000 years ago with the use of stringed instruments related to the likes of the contemporary tanbur and sitar.  Though the size and shape of the neck and the base of current guitars can vary, and even the number of strings on the instrument can range from four to eighteen, guitars used today have fairly standard designs and typically each consist of six strings. There are two main types of modern guitars - the acoustic, which produces sound by the vibration of its strings which is transmitted to the air and shaped by the hollow cavity of the guitar’s body, and the electric, introduced in the 1930s, which relies on a pickup device to capture string vibrations and an amplifier to magnify the sound.

Not willing to buy actual guitars to give to clients and employees to celebrate this awareness month? Opt for a guitar-shaped stress reliever instead. Or choose from our variety of MP3 and MP4 players to let customers and colleagues listen to their own favorite guitar music. Maybe they can channel the talent of guitar greats like Jimi Hendrix…
