Promotional Items for National Bike Week

Bikes were first introduced in the 19th century as the first human-powered means of transport using only 2 wheels. The draisine, invented by the German Baron Karl von Drais, is the name of the bike that is considered to be the predecessor of today’s modern bikes. Introduced to the public in the summer of 1817, the draisine consisted of a wooden frame supported by two in-line wheels. The rider sat upon the frame and pushed the vehicle along with his/her feet while steering the front wheel. Bikes continued to advance and develop becoming the prominent means of transportation, along with horse buggies, prior to the development of the automobile.
Today, bikes are used for a variety of reasons from work to recreation and National Bike Week is an annual opportunity to promote cycling as a source of fitness, fun, and a beneficial means of transportation for the environment! Encourage your clients and employees to bike to work instead of driving by giving promotional sports bottles for bikes!
