Braves v. Phillies – Opening Weekend

Turner Field. Friday, 7:35pm; Saturday, 1:10pm; Sunday, 1:35pm. $8 – $90.

Braves baseball is back! See them play their first home series against the Phillies April 8th-10th. Plus, don’t miss Kids Run the Bases presented by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Kids 14 and under are invited to take the field after the game on Saturday and run the bases like their favorite players. And to conclude the series, the Braves are offering a free postgame concert featuring the Avett Brothers on April 10th.

Canine Cocktails at Hotel Indigo

Hotel Indigo (Midtown). Thursday, 5pm – 10pm. Free.

Bring your furry friend to Hotel Indigo in Midtown on Thursday evenings through June 2nd for the most fashionable four-legged fun the city has to offer! Pups will enjoy complimentary treats (traditional, vegan, and organic) and a water bar, while owners can sip on Hotel Indigo’s signature cocktails (appropriately named the Greyhound, Salty Dog, and Yellow Lab). Dog lovers looking for a new best friend are also welcome, as the Atlanta Humane Society will be on site with some of their most eligible, adoptable pals.

The Laughing Skull Comedy Festival

The Vortex (Midtown). Wednesday through Saturday, 8pm. $15 – $149.

Head over to Midtown Atlanta for a “skull rattling” time at the second annual Laughing Skull Comedy Festival. The Laughing Skull crew has traveled across the US and Canada to discover today’s up and coming comedians, so grab a seat and watch 72 funny-men and women compete for the title of “Best of the Fest.”

The 6th Vinings International Wine Crawl

Registration at Garrison’s Broiler & Tap. Saturday, 1pm – 7pm. $6 in advance, $12 at the door.

Head to the Vinings Village this weekend to enjoy great wines from around the world. The crawl stops at Noche, Vinings Inn, Garrisons, The Grape, and Social Vinings, all of which will pair their tastings with great food discounts. And, just in case you need to justify your afternoon of drinking, a portion of proceeds goes to benefit Small Dog Rescue.

Forbidden Broadway Greatest Hits: Vol. 1

Georgia Ensemble Theatre. Thursday through April 24; various showtimes. $23+.

Come enjoy the latest musical, Forbidden Broadway Greatest Hits: Vol. 1, at the Georgia Ensemble Theatre, sponsored by Bank of North Georgia. Created and written by Gerald Alessandrini, the show promises to bring endless amounts of entertainment as it pays tribute to some of Broadway’s most beloved shows, including The Lion King, Hairspray, Wicked, Cats, and many more.

Adopt a Golden Atlanta Wine Tasting

Marietta Wine Market. Saturday, 2pm – 5pm. $10 donation.

Enjoy wine sampling and complimentary hors d’oeuvres at this event sponsored by Marietta Wine Market. All proceeds benefit Adopt a Golden Atlanta, which is a volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to finding good homes for Golden Retrievers, as well as reducing the number of Golden Retrievers sent to shelters.
