Creative Loafing & Alternative Apparel Present: A Charlie Brown Christmas

Jeffrey Bützer and TT Mahoney return to the Earl for their third annual seasonal rendition of Vince Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas this weekend, sponsored by Creative Loafing and Alternative Apparel. In addition to an original take on the soundtrack to this holiday classic from Atlanta’s favorite “multi-instrumental misfits,” guests can also look forward to performances by Sorry No Ferrari and Jeffrey Bützer and the Bicycle Eaters.

Atkins Park Tacky Sweater Party

Atkins Park, Smyrna. Friday, 10pm. Free.

Dig into your closest or scour the aisles of your local Goodwill and show off your tacky sweater this weekend at Atkins Park. They are celebrating the holiday season with live music, food and a cash prize for the tackiest sweater. So don’t be ashamed, ’tis the season to be tacky.

Holiday Lights Bicycle Tours

Depart from Max Lager’s Woodfire Grille. Sunday, 7pm – 9pm. $25.

Join Bicycle Tours of Atlanta for their annual roll through the festive holiday lights of the city. Community Santa Contest

The Forum, Norcross. Friday, 7pm – 8:30pm. Free.

This Friday after work, don your finest holiday apparel and head to The Forum for the 1st Annual Community Santa Contest. Prizes will be awarded for a range of categories, including “Most Realistic” and “Cutest,” and all attendees will receive discounts just for dressing in Santa gear. Pets are welcome and encouraged to wear festive clothing, too.

Virginia-Highland Christmas 5k

Virginia Highlands. Saturday, 9am. Free to watch.

This popular race sold out weeks ago, but come out to watch the stream of 1000 runners who will be decked out in Santa hats, tinsel gardens, and more as you enjoy the pre- and post-race festivities alongside participants. Proceeds benefit historic Fire Station #19 on North Highland Avenue.
