Pack a picnic and head to Callanwolde Fine Arts Center for Jazz on the Lawn this Friday night. Enjoy both classic and contemporary jazz performances from talented local performers. No need to worry about the weather. In case of rain, the concert will be held in the Callenwolde Indoor Courtyard.

The Goat Farm Atlanta. Friday, 7:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. $15.

Put on your grass skirt and head down to The Goat Farm! Enjoy tiki themed tunes by Atlanta acts including the Little 5 Points Rockstar Orchestra, Ghost Bikini and Davina & the Harlots. The team from Hoop Essence will be on hand dazzling with their hula hooping skills! Proceeds will go to 7 Stages, a local non-profit theatre company.

The International Music Conference will take place this Friday at the 595 North Event Venue and Lounge. This event is great for any budding musicians who want exposure on a worldwide scale. Join artists, songwriters, sponsors, and music industry execs along with music fans from around the world for this great conference full of showcase opportunities and artist connections.

Back to School Bash

Atlantic Station’s Back to School Bash

Atlantic Station. Saturday, 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Free.

Head down to Atlantic Station to take advantage of Georgia’s tax-free weekend with some back to school shopping.  There will be live music, face painting and great deals to be had by all.  Be sure to bring extra school supplies to donate to the Atlanta Dayshelter for Women and Children.

Battle of Atlanta Pub Tour

The Glenn Hotel. Saturday, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. $25. 21+.

What do you get when you combine history and beer? You’ll find out as you learn about Atlanta’s involvement in the Civil War on this engaging historical tour. The tour stops at three Atlanta pubs – The Glenn Hotel, The Square Pub and Six Feet Under – for some refreshments along the way.

Runway Red Fashion Show

Runway Red Wonderland Safari Kids Fashion Show

Zoo Atlanta. Saturday, 7:00 p.m. – 9:15 p.m. Adult VIP package $60; Children 12 and under VIP Package $20; Adult General Admission $35; Children 12 and under general admission $15; Children under 3 free.

Watch children’s designers showcase their collections in this charity fashion show which benefits children affected by HIV/AIDS.  Celebrity children will be modeling the apparel including the kids of T.I., Akon and Evander Holyfield.  You may also purchase a VIP package which includes an up close encounter with Lun Lun and Yang Yang, the zoo’s giant pandas.
