The Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-Off

Stone Mountain Park. Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. $10; Children 12 and under are free.

For the 32nd year, get ready to sample some chili at the Miller Lite Chili Cook-Off. This event, held at Stone Mountain Park, features more than 300 teams from across the US trying to win the title of Best Chili, Best Brunswick Stew, Best Cornbread, People’s Choice Award or Showmanship Award. As an attendee, it’s your job to sample all the chili and vote for your favorite. There will also be fun contests (like the Metro PCS Jalapeno Eating Contest) and tribute bands. All proceeds go to support Camp Twin Lakes.

Summerhil Fall Fest

1st Annual Summerhill Fall Fest

Summerhill. Saturday, 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Free admission; entry fee to race $5. Dogs are welcome.

Fall is in the air, so have a ball at the Summerhill Fall Fest! This first ever event features an artist market, local brews and food trucks! And don’t miss the main event, Atlanta’s first ever Adult Big Wheel Race!

SkaterAid 2012

East Decatur Station. Sunday, 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.; $10 Adults; $5 Students.

SkaterAid is an event to support families who are dealing with pediatric cancer. In memory of Decatur teen Ian Wochatz, this event honors his life through skateboarding, art and music. There will be skateboard ramps (bring your boards), demos, contests and prizes. In addition, SkaterAid will have live music, carnival games, a skateboard art show and food and drink. This is a great event for teenagers. All proceeds go to help families pay their bills while attending to their sick or hospitalized children.

Party with the Past

Party with the Past

Margaret Mitchell House. Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Free.

Learn about Atlanta’s history while sipping on a cold beer. Sounds like the perfect combination. Party with the Past is a two hour event held at the Margaret Mitchell House. You can purchase drinks, enjoy complimentary appetizers from Taco Mac and learn about Margaret Mitchell and Gone with the Wind. It’s like history class, only with beer!

Tacos & Tequila Fest

Tacos and Tequila Fest

Eclipse di Luna. Saturday, 2:00 p.m. $15.

Enjoy delicious tacos from Atlanta favorites Eclipse di Luna, Loca Luna, the Taco Buggy and D.B.A Barbecue and then wash them down with some fun tequila drinks. Does tequila make you what to dance? That’s a good thing because there will be live music from great local bands. If you’re worried about missing the game, have no fear, there will be college football games on multiple tvs.

CounterPoint Festival

CounterPoint Festival

Private Farm 30 min south of Atlanta. Thursday – Saturday. 3-day General Admission $185; Single Day Tickets $59 Thursday; Single Day Tickets Friday or Saturday $89. VIP tickets available.

Dubstep, and all related genres, aficionados rejoice! Atlanta is hosting one of the biggest dubstep/electronic festivals this weekend. In it’s inaugural year the CounterPoint festival has headliners such as Skrillex, Bass Nectar, and M83. Whether you choose to commute to the festival or camp all for the entire event, you’ll have plenty of options to keep you occupied during the festival!
