Custom office supplies and promotional desk accessoriesCarl slowly opened the heavy wooden door. The CEO’s high-backed desk chair was turned backwards, as if perhaps he was looking out the window, pondering what it meant to be king. So Carl tiptoed in, then tripped, and caught himself by grabbing the edge of the glossy mahogany desk. The chair didn't move. Neither did the custom desk accessories arranged so carefully, so perfectly.
Carl slowly exhaled, collected himself, wiped his sweaty palms on his khakis, and admired the branded office supplies on the CEO's desk. He imagined how those custom desk accessories and personalized desk organizers would look inside his own tiny cubicle in the office building's basement.
That Office Buddy Cube, an organizer with room for sticky notes, sticky flags, and pens — genius. And it had the company's name printed on it, which made it all the better. Any time someone visited the CEO, that visitor would see the company's name everywhere. And maybe they'd be given custom sticky notes (usually with the complicated keypad for exiting the parking lot) to go, ensuring they'd never forget this company and the greatness of this CEO.
Carl cleared his throat. Would it be wrong to touch the customized 3 in 1 Letter Opener, to feel how it so gracefully combined a ruler, magnifier, and letter opener? Or to maybe pocket the mini business card promotional jotter, or the Goofy Clip 'n' Flag Set that has a magnet in its head to hold paper clips? Would the CEO even notice if he swiped a Flexi Promotional Ruler, or a customized Original Note Nest? I mean, the CEO had so many branded office supplies. Surely Carl could get away with taking a personalized Portfolio Press Kit. Did the CEO really need a personalized Illuminated Menu Magnifier, since a private chef cooked all of his meals?
"Sir, I need a raise," Carl squeaked out, still looking at the back of the high-backed chair.
He gently touched the personalized desk organizers, the Allura Conference Folder, and the customized Heart Keep-It Clip, and imagined how it would feel to sit in the big chair, surrounded by such wonderful custom desk accessories, for once.
The office door opened. "Carl," the CEO's assistant said. "What are you doing in the CEO's office? And why are you talking to yourself? You know he’s at his house in Tahiti."
Carl silently slipped a customized Eliminator Eraser into his pocket, and moved it between his fingers. Someday this will all be mine, he thought to himself. Then he smiled as he slipped past the assistant and back into obscurity. For now.
