Employee wellness – your key to increased productivity

Your employees are your #1 Cost as well as your #1 Asset. You want them to be as productive as possible to give your investment in them as much return as possible. But employee productivity goes beyond time management and nose-to-the-grindstone projects – employee attitudes are largely shaped by the environment in which they work, and that has a tremendous effect on productivity.

You know your employees work hard for you; stress in the workplace is undeniable. According to a recent NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) study by the CDC, 40% of workers reported that their job was "very or extremely stressful", and job stress is more strongly associated with health complaints. So we know working hard isn’t always working smart. That’s the bad news.

However, there is good news regarding how your employees experience their work place. In another study, the Boston Consulting Group interviewed 200,000 employees in 189 countries, and the #1 factor contributing to employee satisfaction was appreciation. There is no doubt that showing recognition and appreciating your employees dramatically improves their overall work experience.

At Pinnacle, we’ve got this down. We know that to increase the vitality of our company we need to focus on the overall wellness and happiness of our employees. We’ve created a fun, dynamic work environment that is focused on our employees: from our warmly-lit meditation room for our staff to relax to the diner-style lunch room to increase comradery; from Bring-Your-Dog-To-Work-Wednesdays to DJ-for-the-Day office-wide music; from potluck lunches to chili cook-offs to tailgate parties.

In addition to these general-office initiatives, we also put effort into recognizing and appreciating our employees. Just a little thank-you goes a long way.

Let's look at some ways to engage and energize your employees both inside and outside of work through the power of promotional products.
