Atlanta Improv Open Mic Comedy Competition

Come support Pinnacle’s own funny man Jamille Harley as he competes in the Atlanta Improv Open Mic Comedy Competition.  You’ll see 10-12 comics performing with the top 3-4 being invited back the following week.  The winner will receive airtime on Rock 100.5, some opening slots at the Atlanta improv and much more.  Get ready to laugh!

Foodies, this is the event for you.  For three days, enjoy all the great food that Southern chefs have to offer at the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival.   Choose from several different types of passes including dinners and events, tasting tents or one or three day passes that include classes and other bonuses.  You won’t leave hungry!

Autism Awareness Day at Turner Field

 

Autism Awareness Day at Turner Field

Turner Field.  Sunday, 1:35 p.m.  $28.  Children and adults with autism will receive a free ticket with the purchase of a regular price ticket.

Watch the Braves take on the Washington Nationals as part of Autism Awareness Day.  This event will help raise awareness for Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Everyone is invited to participate in a free pre-game parade around the field at 12:15.  A portion of the proceeds go to Autism Speaks.

Virginia Highland Summerfest

 

Virginia Highland Summerfest

Virginia-Highland.  Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Artist market closes at 6:30 p.m.) Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Free.

Virginia Highland transforms itself into a huge street party this weekend.  You’ll enjoy plenty of art, music, food and a large kids area.  There is also a 5K on Saturday morning (registration fee required) to kick things off.  Musical talent includes Jason Isbell on Saturday and Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors on Sunday.

SuperCon Fun Run

SuperCon Fun Run

Piedmont Park. Saturday, 11:00 a.m.  $25 for adults; $15 for children 12 and under.  Free for children under 2.  $75 for a family of four.

Unleash your inner super hero at the SuperCon Fun Run.  This 5K goes through beautiful Piedmont Park and partners with local and national anti-bullying foundations to raise money and promote awareness about youth bullying.  Dress up in your favorite super hero costume for the run.  There will also be a neighborhood block party after with specials from local favorites The Nook, Parq, Gilberts Cafe & Bar and more!

Woodstock Wing & Rock Fest

Woodstock City Park.  Friday, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.; Saturday, 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.; Sunday, 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Free.

If you like classic rock, wings and cold beer, the Woodstock Wing & Rock Fest is for you.  This free event takes place all weekend long.  The whole family will enjoy great classic rock tribute bands, wings from places like Wing Zone and Wing Stop and lots of kids activities as well.  There will also be a wing-eating contest, so get ready!
