Cirque de la Symphonie

Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre At Encore Park. Saturday, 8pm. $12+.

What do you get when you combine with the amazing acrobatics of Cirque du Soleil with classical masterpieces performed by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra? A powerful show in which two great art forms come to life. Playing in Atlanta for one night only, Cirque de la Symphonie is a must-see event!

Georgia Games 28th Annual Run For Life

Roberts Business Park. Saturday, 7am. Free.

Originally founded as part of an effort to win the 1996 Olympic Games, the Georgia Games continue to give athletes the opportunity to hone their skills. During the Annual Run For Life, runners of all ages can participate in a 10K race, a 5K race, a 5K health walk, a 1 mile fun run, or the tot trot. All proceeds benefit the Georgia Sports Foundation’s fight against childhood obesity.

People’s Health Day

Midtown (Georgia Tech to Piedmont Park). Saturday, 9am. Free.

FearlessPhilanthropy (FP), a national non-profit organization headquartered in Atlanta, is dedicated to promoting healthy life habits. The first annual People’s Health Day and 5K race aims to encourage people to partake in one hour of exercise each day to reap the mental and physical health benefits associated with physical activity. Along with games, exercise technique demonstrations, and flag football, attendees will be able to sample organic meals and fresh produce from local farms and vendors and enter assorted contests, raffles, and giveaways sponsored by local health-conscious businesses.

Ladies 80s Night

Fadó Irish Pub. Saturday, 7pm. Free.

Break out your leg warmers and hair scrunchies and party for a great cause! Fado is partnering with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Georgia Chapter to raise money for cancer research. The festivities begin at 7PM with an 80s costume contest, $5 80s cocktails (for ladies), a raffle, a silent auction to benefit Team in Training, and authentic 80s glow necklaces, slap bracelets, and candy necklaces. DJ starts spinning at 10:30pm.

National Water Gun Fight Day

Freedom Park. Saturday, 1pm – 4pm. Free.

Grab your best water gun and head to Freedom Park this Saturday afternoon for the Atlanta edition of National Water Gun Fight Day! You’ll need a white t-shirt customized with the name of your team (Team Blue or Team Red), lots of bottled water, and a revolutionary attitude. This event is free and open to all ages: kids as well as kids at heart.

PLOT by Blake Beckham & Dance Truck

The Goat Farm. Thursday – Saturday, 7:30pm. $14+.

In conjunction with Dance Truck, choreographer Blake Beckham has designed PLOT specifically to utilize the arresting interior and exterior spaces at The Goat Farm. This performance will combine movement, lighting design, film, sound and art installations that illuminate the former cotton gin’s beauty and integrity.
